How to Disable the Google Map – The Events Calendar – Video & Article
Learn how to disable the map throughout your entire event system, or how to change the zoom level on the maps used within the events system.
In this article, we’re going to tell you how to change the zoom level on your events’ map or how to disable a map entirely.
Note that this feature isn’t available on some sites and themes.
- Log into the back-end of your website.
- Hover over events in the left-hand admin sidebar and select Settings.
- Make sure you’re in the General tab.
- Scroll down towards the bottom of the page until you see an area titled Map Settings. There are two settings that you’re going to want to change here.
- If you would like to remove the maps from all individual event pages, go ahead and de-select this checkbox and it will disable the maps entirely.
- If you want to change the zoom level on your maps, you can do that here, too. The default value is 10 and that’s typically the sweet spot between being zoomed in and seeing very little and being zoomed all the way out and seeing the entire world. If you would like to zoom your map in, start increasing this value towards 21. Typically, increments of two work good until you find where you want to be and then you can use an increment of one to fine-tune it. If you want to zoom your map out, decrease this value towards 0.
- Save.
