Blogging with Worship Times – Video
In this video tutorial, we show you how to create a blog and organize it with Worship Times. Have a pastor’s blog, missions blog, youth blog, and so much more, all on one website.
Note that if you would like to learn more about additional features, such as sticky posts (which allows one post to “stick” to the top your blog page) or the post expirator (which allows you to set an expiration date for posts), contact support@worshiptimes.org or submit a support ticket.
- Hover over Add New in your top, black admin bar and go to Blog Post.
- Alternatively, from your dashboard, hover over Posts and click on Add Post.
- Give your post a title.
- Add in content.
- On the right-hand side, select or create a category. This is especially useful if you want to have a youth blog, a mission blog, and a pastor blog, all on one site.
- You could also add tags, useful when searching. Four to six tags is standard for a blog post.
- Publish the post.
- If you already have a blog page or category pages, your post will automatically appear at the top. Blogs display the most recent post first and older posts get pushed down, which means that your newest content stays front-and-center, but your older content is still accessible.
- To create a menu item for a blog category:
- Hover over Appearance then Menus.
- Find the categories section on the left-hand side. If you don’t see categories, go to the top right-hand side and select Screen Options. Then select Categories and any other elements that you might want in your menu.
- Check the category you want to add.
- Click on Add to Menu.
- Drag-and-drop it to the location of your choosing, and open it up to edit any details.
- Save Menu.
- To display posts in your widget section:
- Hover over Appearance and click on Widgets.
- Drag-and-drop Recent Posts to a widget area and choose the options you want.
- Save
As always, if you have any questions, please submit a support ticket from your website or email us at support@worshiptimes.org.
