Adding Links to Text & Images – Video & Article

The Create a Text Link in WordPress video show how to make text in your page or post link to either an external website or an internal page.

Add a link to an internal page:

  1. In your editor, enter in some text
  2. Highlight the text you want to become a link
  3. Click on the link/chain icon
  4. Type in the name of the page and select it
  5. Click on the apply icon

Add a link to an external page, images, and/or PDFs:

  1. In your editor, enter in some text
  2. Highlight the text you want to become a link
  3. Click on the link/chain icon
    1. Copy the URL of the page, image or pdf you’d like to link to (upload images and PDFs to the Media Library first) and paste it in the URL field
    2. Click on the apply icon
  4. OR (recommended) Click on the Settings icon
    1. Copy the URL of the page you’d like to link to and paste it in the URL field
    2. Check the box next to “Open link in a new tab”
    3. Click on the Add Link button
