Add Social Media Icons to Your Website – Video & Article
Learn how to use the Simple Social Icons widget to add social media icons (with links!) across your website.
Not all sites use Simple Social Icons. If you do not see it and would like to use it, please submit a support ticket or email us at support@worshiptimes.org so that we can activate it for you.
Some sites use Worship Times’s in-house social media widget. For those, you can add your social URLs under Worship Times –> Social Media Settings, then adjust the widget settings under Appearance –> Widgets.
If you are using the Divi theme, your site may use Divi’s built-in social module, which you will edit directly in the Divi editor.
- From your dashboard, in the left-hand admin sidebar, hover over Appearance, and then select Widgets. The way we’re going to be able to add our social media icons is actually through a widget.
- Look for the Simply Social Icons widgets.
- Drag-and-drop the widget to the widget area of your choice.
- Add a title for the widget if you’d like.
- Make sure that all of your links open in a new window.
- Increase the icon size as needed. Typically 40px is a good size.
- Adjust the border radius as needed – this will change how rounded the corners are. A border radius of zero is going to have squared off corners. If you wanted circle icons, you can set the border radius to half the size of your icon size.
- You can add a border or leave it at 0.
- Set the alignment as needed.
- Change the icon color as needed.
- Change the color of the icon on hover as needed.
- Change the background color as needed.
- Change the background hover color as needed.
- Paste in your URL to your accounts for each social media site that you have.
- Save
